For quick relief from aches and pains Press the tips of your little fingers hard for 3 to 5 minutes. In case you are unable to press your own finger ask someone else to press your finger tip. This will give immediate relief but is not a cure. The cause of the ache or pain needs to be diagnosed by a doctor and treated.

In case you have high blood pressure, try massaging the inner side of your little finger outwards "From the base of the little finger towards the tip". Children often get minor burns while playing. To get quick relief from the pain, crush a potato and apply it on the burn and apply a loose bandage over the burn. Besides giving quick relief, it also prevents forming of painful blisters.

Old people and children and women often develop anemia. They become lethargic and are unable to concentrate. This condition can be easily rectified by soaking 10 -15 raisins in a tumbler of water over night and consuming the water and raisins first thing in the morning. It should be ensured that nothing else should be taken for 1 hr after eaten the raisins.

You or any member of your family all of a sudden get a coughing fit at night and are unable to stop it. Cough mixtures have harmful substances like codine a derivative of opium that should not be taken. In any case they will give only a temporary relief. Try this to give you quick relief.
Cut a thin slice of ginger and apply some rock salt on it. Place the ginger slice in your mouth and slowly suck on it without chewing it. The cough will immediately stop ahd you will be able to get a good nights sleep.

Garlic has perhaps the maximim curitive properties. It is high in sulphur content and therefore has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties. The best way to use garlic is to burn 2 to 3 cloves of garlic in 10ml of mustard oil. cool and shieve to remove the garlic cloves. Thisoil can now be used as follows:

  • Two drops of the oil put in the year will give relief from pain in the ear.
  • if applied in cuts or wounds will hasten healing.
  • massage strained muscles to get relief fron muscular pain.

Stress may be self created or forced on you by the environment in which you live. It is impossible and unpractical to totally rid yourself of stress. Therefore, we need to strengthen our body to be able to cope with stress without breaking down.
amla(Indian Goose Berry) morama is a excellent body conditioner. Besied protecting you against the ill effects of stress, it also protects you against minor ailments. This is how it is prepared at home.
Ingredients
Fresh amla 1Kg
Pure Honey(should not be heated and treated)* 2Kg
Preparation
Grate the amla and discard the seed. Place the grated amla in a clean air tight glass jar. Pour the honey over the grated amla. It should be ensured that the grated amla is fully covered with honey. Tie a thin clith over the neck of the jar and place it in the sun for seven days. In sevendays the water content would have evaporated to a large extent. On the 8th day place the airtight lid and tighten it. You can start eating the preparation after another week. It should be ensured that the jar remains airtight or else the moraba will fermint and turn into wine (wine can be consumed without any ill effects after maturing).
How should it be eaten
1 tea spoon full of this preparation should be taken early in the morning over an empty stomach. Do not take any other drink or food for at least one Hour after consuming the moraba.
If taken before the onset of winter and continued throughout winter, it will protect you from cold and cough throughout winter.
* Normal honey available in the market is heated and treated. By heating honey it looses all its useful enzymes and is reduced to nothing but flavoured sugar. You can contact me in India for pure honey.
